Voting in local elections is the best way to have direct impact on your neighborhood, your sidewalks, your schools, your parks, and your quality of life. Yet only 25% of Dedham's voters participate in Town elections (compared to 75% who vote in National elections.)
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE, by committing to vote and bringing your friends and neighbors with you!
This year, election day falls on the first weekend of School Vacation week. If you will be out of town, please vote by absentee at Town Hall. Open 8:30 - 4:30 Thursday, 4/12 and 8:30 - noon on Friday, 4/13.

Planning For
Dedham's Future

I am a proud Dedham resident. I have lived here for 17 years with my husband, Matthew McGuire, and our kids Emma and Jackson. I devote my time to making Dedham a great town for people of all ages, abilities, income levels, and neighborhoods. I serve on Town Meeting, am an Associate on the Zoning Board of Appeals, and am on the Master Plan Implementation Committee and the Dedham Square Planning Committee.

In those roles, I’ve seen how important planning is for determining our town’s future. Well-planned neighborhoods and commercial areas, access to open space, a variety of housing options, and an ability to get around town safely all contribute to our well-being as Dedham residents.

I’m running for Planning Board because we have an opportunity to take Dedham planning to the next level. Too often we’re caught off guard, reacting to zoning changes and questionable building design proposed by developers, rather than being guided by what the community needs and wants.
We can do better.

If elected, I’ll focus on:
  • Planning systematically and comprehensively for issues facing Dedham like traffic congestion, pedestrian safety, senior housing, and increased development,
  • Improving public involvement in Dedham’s planning and communicating better with residents,
  • Ensuring the Planning Board enacts development rules that are consistent with the Town’s Master Plan, and
  • Systematically reviewing key projects after they’re built to reinforce best practices and learn from missteps to improve our planning and permitting processes.
